What Do I Prep On Meal Prep Days? Healthy Meal Prep #05
Many people think that they have to cut out carbs in their diets. This isn’t true. You do have to change the type you eat. Stick to eating easy to digest carbs like veggies and other raw foods. Avoid eating a lot of starchy carbs like potatoes and beans. I would eat one meal containing starchy carbs a day. Here is a list of carbs that I prep to help me stay on track:
- green pepper
- brown rice
- olive oil or coconut oil to prepare meals
The key to healthy meal prep is to cut out the veggies and package them up in Tupperware or plastic bags. Throw in a paper towel to help soak up the water so they stay fresh longer.
Also, portion out your meals and throw them in some meal prep containers or Tupperware. I have found that when I am searching for something to make it is easier to grab items that I have cooked already to make a meal. You can get creative with the items you have already prepped above.
For instance, part of my healthy meal prep routine is to make brown rice or quinoa and turkey taco meat. I add both of these together to create a protein-packed meat and rice dish that I eat for lunch.
Making a salad has never been easier either. Just dump some lettuce into a bowl with your pre-cut veggies and you have a salad in minutes.
